The City is installing a new traffic signal at Franlo Road and Prairie Center Drive to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

The City is lining the existing watermain pipe near Mount Curve and Olympia Drive to eliminate the need for emergency repairs in the area. Work will be completed using Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) lining, which limits the street disturbance needed to repair the aging watermain.

The City is replacing an aging wooden retaining wall along Valley View Road, near the intersection of Bittersweet Drive. Tree and wall removal will begin Oct. 30, and the full project is expected to be complete by the end of November.

The trail in front of the wall will be closed for the duration of the project. Valley View Road will remain open with brief detours or flaggers in place as necessary to ensure safety.

The City is reconstructing the eastern segment of West 70th Street between Flying Cloud Drive and Shady Oak Road to extend multi-modal improvements east to Shady Oak Road.

The Southwest Light Rail Transit (SWLRT), or Green Line Extension, is a high-frequency train that will connect downtown Minneapolis to Eden Prairie through St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Minnetonka.

To allow CenterPoint Energy to relocate a regulator, Columbine Road will be closed near the intersection of Prairie Center Drive for approximately one week beginning Monday, Oct. 28.

October 2024 Intrepid Fiber Installation Update

Intrepid is expected to begin installing fiber-optic cable in two additional neighborhoods in southwestern Eden Prairie at the end of October.

Installation is expected in northern Eden Prairie in 2025.

If you see non-City crews working in the right of way along a street near you, or in backyard drainage and utility easements, they may be installing fiber-optic cable.

This work is not being carried out by the City, nor does the City control the pace of installation.

Before starting work, Intrepid and Gigapower are expected to place temporary signs and door hangers in affected neighborhoods, which provide more project details and contact information.

To allow crews to install a utility connection near The Enclave development, W. 168th St. will be closed at the intersection of S. Manor Road for two days beginning Monday, Sept. 30.

Work is expected to take two days.

Beginning in mid-June 2024, MnDOT will make improvements to Highway 101 from Highway 5 to Townline Road.

Crews will resurface the road, reconstruct trails, add trail connections, improve accessibility, repair shoulders and improve drainage.
