Subscribe to a renewable energy source by Friday, Oct. 11 to help support Eden Prairie's climate action goals, and for a chance to win an e-Bike valued at $1,200.

- Subscribe to a community solar garden and save up to 15% on your energy bill every month
- Install solar panels on your home

Police Explorers Informational Meeting
The Edina/Eden Prairie Police Explorers program is recruiting for new explorers. Becoming a police explorer offers young adults ages 14–21 the opportunity to gain working knowledge of law enforcement through hands-on experience. That knowledge and experience could eventually lead to a career in law enforcement. An informational meeting for potential participants of Edina/Eden Prairie Explorers Post No. 925 is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 at the South Metro Public Safety Training Facility (7525 Braemar Blvd. in Edina).
PROP-TOBERFEST
PROP Food Shelf is hosting PROP-TOBERFEST from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 at Fat Pants Brewing Company. A $10 wristband purchased at the event enters you into a drawing for a door prize and gives access to outdoor festivities for kids and adults. All proceeds fund PROP Food Shelf.
Wings of the North Sweepstakes
Tickets for the annual Wings of the North Sweepstakes are now available. Proceeds go toward securing a permanent home for the air museum. The grand prize drawing, for a 1946 Cessna 140, is Saturday, Sept. 28. Learn more and purchase tickets at wotn.org/Sweepstakes.
I-494 Road Construction Webinar
Join Commuter Services and the Minnesota Department of Transportation from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, for the free webinar, Detours Ahead: I-494 Construction Updates. MnDOT I-494 Construction Manager Tim Clyne will take a look back at what has been done and what is yet to come. The live webinar will be recorded for later on-demand viewing, and a link to the recording and copy of the slide deck will be emailed to all who register for the webinar.
Race Equity Initiative Update
Last week the City Council heard an update on the progress being made to advance race equity within the organization, which includes integrating equity and inclusion principles into all City operations, projects and services. Recent efforts that were highlighted include culturally significant training for staff, and strategies the Parks and Recreation Department has implemented to make community events and programming more inclusive. The progress is documented at edenprairie.org/DEIProgress and was compiled by the Race Equity Action Team, which is comprised of several staff members representing each City department.
Housing and Community Services Updates
- 346 walk-in clients were assisted between June and August
- 194 clients received employment services assistance, and 152 received assistance for other resources, such as County benefits, Metro HRA, unemployment, immigration services, childcare, etc.
- 7 Eden Prairie homes were repaired through the Housing Rehab Loan Program
- 11 seniors received home maintenance assistance and three seniors received a new furnace, air conditioner, and/or water heater through the Senior Emergency Repair Program
- 2,558 individuals or households were served by nine nonprofits in the first quarter alone through the City's Human Services Grant program

Staff News
Mathew Stulz was recently promoted from duty crew firefighter to the full-time position of fire prevention specialist. Mat has been an Eden Prairie firefighter since 2016.

- The Heritage Perservation Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16 in the City Center Heritage Rooms
- The City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. for a workshop in the Heritage Rooms prior to its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 in the Council Chambers
- The Sept. 23 Planning Commission meeting is canceled
