Lakes, Creeks and Wetlands

The City of Eden Prairie is home to a wide variety of natural resources, including 19 lakes, four creek systems, over 1,000 wetland and ponds, 14 conservation areas and 35 parks.

Stewardship of these resources is important for the good of our community. The City provides information and programs covering a wide array of water quality topics and issues related to our lakes, streams and wetlands, including:

Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Inspections, Monitoring and Removal

Goose Management

Lake Management

Shoreland Management

Shoreland Restoration Rebates

Water Quality Planning

Wetland Permitting

Many of these programs are coordinated with the local watershed districts — Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek, Nine Mile Creek and Lower Minnesota River.

If you would like more information about any of these topics, or if you see any environmental problems the City should be aware of, contact the water resources coordinator.
