City of Eden Prairie logoEnvironmental Stewardship Award

The City was recently honored with the 2020 Environmental Stewardship Award for its achievements guided by the Sustainable Eden Prairie initiative. The Minnesota Chapter of the American Public Works Association presents this award annually to an individual or an organization which has shown a sustained effort demonstrating a commitment to environmental conservation or protection. The project must benefit the community and environment, and take into consideration cost-effectiveness, long-term operation and maintenance.

Holiday Lights Recycling

Recycle Your Holidays™ is a statewide holiday light recycling program. Residents can drop off unwanted light strands at any Eden Prairie Liquor location through the end of the year.

Mosquito Control District Report

In 2020 the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District (MMCD) was able to maintain inspections and mosquito control work with limited interruption. Throughout the season District Staff inspected almost 75,000 breeding sites for mosquito larvae and applied 198,678 acres worth of treatments. They also treated 290,126 catch basins in the seven-county metro, more than any previous year. View Eden Prairie's 2020 MMCD Report [PDF].
