Home Energy Loan Program
Center for Energy and Environment offers low-interest loans for Minnesota homeowners to make energy improvements in their homes.

Home Improvement Loan Program
This statewide program was established to encourage and support the preservation of existing housing. The program provides loans to improve the basic livability and/or energy efficiency of the borrower's home.

Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program
The City offers a zero-interest, deferred loan up to $20,000 for low- and moderate-income households to maintain, repair and improve their Eden Prairie homes. Many energy-efficient improvements are eligible.

Solar Financing
If you’re considering installing photovoltaic (PV) solar technology on your home, Center for Energy and Environment offers low-interest loans for Minnesota homeowners.

The Weatherization Assistance Program provides free home energy upgrades to income-eligible homeowners and renters to help save energy, and make sure your home is a healthy and safe place to live. This program is administered in Hennepin County by the Sustainable Resources Center.

If you are unable to pay your energy bill and meet certain income requirements you may qualify for the Energy Assistance Program administered by Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County.

Minnesota's Cold Weather Rule protects customers from utility shutoffs from Oct. 1 through April 30 each year. However, you must first call your utility and work out a payment arrangement for the Cold Weather Rule to apply. This program is available for both homeowners and renters.

Rebates for boiler tune-ups and system components, heating system steam traps, energy recovery components, demand control ventilation, water heaters, pipe insulation, process equipment and custom rebates.

Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative
Rebates for lighting, heating and cooling, motors and drives, agriculture and others.

Xcel Energy
Energy audits and studies, new construction and whole building strategies, renewable programs and equipment rebates.

CenterPoint Energy
Home performance program and DIY home-efficiency ideas, plus rebates for heating systems, programmable thermostats, furnace and boiler tune-ups, water heaters, fireplaces, residential laundry appliances, and air-sealing and insulation.

Department of Energy
Federal incentives are available for purchasing water heaters, heat pumps, electric vehicles and more. Visit the Department of Energy's Energy Savings Hub at energy.gov/Save where you can also access the appropriate IRS forms for residential tax credits.

Federal Tax Credits
Homeowners can receive tax credits on a number of energy-efficiency improvements like electric panel upgrades, heat pump water heaters, air source heat pumps, insulation and more.

Inflation Reduction Act Rebates
The State of Minnesota is administering home energy and electrification rebates approved as part of the Inflation Reduction Act. Rebates are expected to be available in late 2024 or early 2025.
