Artists: Susan Feigenbaum and Megan Moore Smith

BirdScapes sculpture installation at the Outdoor Center

BirdScapes is a collaborative artwork by sculptor Susan Feigenbaum and painter Megan Moore. The artists researched five Minnesota habitats: deciduous woodland, boreal forest, prairie, wetlands, and lakes and rivers.

Moore painted characteristic flora and captured the atmosphere of these habitats on columnar forms. Feigen­baum created sculptural accents and the Minnesota bird species that depend on these habitats. The style of the artwork is meant to convey the essence of these birds and where they live.

This sculpture was originally installed as part of the Rotating Art Series and is now a permanent installation.
