Biodiversity and Belonging installed outside the Staring Lake Park Building

This mosaic is the latest piece from Rizzo’s pollinator series begun in 2014 and highlights human impact on pollinator populations, and the importance of hope through environmental conservation.

Rizzo is inspired by the curiosity of youth and older generations who impart their wisdom through storytelling. Both capture the beauty and power of the moment to realize their connectedness to the natural world.

This project allowed her to draw upon Eden Prairie’s history of fertile farmlands and biodiversity, while joining imagery of one generation with stories of another.

Biodiversity and Belonging was generously donated by the artist to the City of Eden Prairie.
