Kathy Nelson

Council Member

Kathy Nelson was re-elected to a fifth four-year term as a member of the Eden Prairie City Council in the 2022 election.

Nelson has served on the Southwest Light Rail Transit Policy Board and the Eden Prairie Community Foundation Board of Directors. She is currently representing the City on the Eden Prairie Fire Relief Association and is a member of the League of Women Voters.

Prior to her election to the City Council, Nelson had been a longtime member of the City’s Planning Commission.

Nelson earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Minnesota. She and her family have lived in Eden Prairie since 1992.
