Chief Scott Gerber took command of the Eden Prairie Fire Department in April 2019, after leading the Excelsior Fire District as chief for more than 12 years.

Gerber previously worked for Carver County as the risk/emergency management director, and as a paramedic with Ridgeview Medical Center, in addition to serving his home community in many roles with the Chaska Fire Department for nearly 22 years.

Chief Gerber earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Cardinal Stritch University and an Executive Fire Officer certification from the National Fire Academy.
