The 2023 Heritage Preservation Award was presented at the May 16 City Council meeting to Katie Qualey.

Katie has served as a board member and vice president of the Eden Prairie Historical Society for more than ten years, contributing to the society's vast photo collection and preparing its newsletter, annual meeting materials and more.

As a graphic artist, Katie has designed interpretive panels for many of the City’s historic properties including the Richard T. Anderson Conservation Area and Staring Lake Park. She has also designed visual timelines for the Cummins-Phipps-Grill Homestead and Smith-Douglas-More House.

Katie's work shares and promotes the history of Eden Prairie, and her contributions will continue to influence residents and visitors for many years to come.

The goal of the Heritage Preservation Award is to recognize an individual, family or business who has made an outstanding contribution to the preservation, rehabilitation, restoration and use of Eden Prairie's heritage resources.

Nominations for Heritage Preservation Awards can be made by individuals on behalf of themselves or others. One award is given each year. For the next award process, nomination materials will be available in early 2024.
