Sustainable Eden Prairie is an ongoing effort focusing on education and implementation of sustainable practices to protect the environment and natural resources our community enjoys.
Building upon the success of the 20-40-15 initiative, the City is leading by example and providing a foundation for residents and businesses to carry out sustainable practices in four areas — energy, landscape, waste and water.

Help protect local waterways, organize a group of family, friends or neighbors, and adopt a storm drain in your community!
First, mark your drain with a message to remind others that only rain goes in the drain – the City provides a Storm Drain Marking Kit with supplies and instructions. Then, go online to claim your adopted drain and keep it cleared of debris year-round – the City provides supplies including safety vests.
