The City of Eden Prairie is committed to furthering fair housing practices and assisting its residents with protecting their rights under applicable fair housing laws.

If you believe you’re a victim of discrimination related to renting or buying a housing unit due to your race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, familial status, sexual orientation, marital status, status with regard to public assistance or creed, you may want to file a fair housing complaint.

Filing Complaints

Complaints can be filed with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development or with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.

Contact the Jonathan Stanley, the City’s housing and community services specialist and fair housing officer, at 952-949-8439 with questions about filing claims or finding legal assistance.

City of Eden Prairie Fair Housing Policy

Fair Housing Implementation Council

The Fair Housing Implementation Council (FHIC) is composed of cities, counties, community development agencies (CDAs), and housing and redevelopment authorities (HRAs) that coordinate metro-wide efforts to affirmatively further fair housing. The council promotes fair housing choice regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, family status, creed, sexual or affectional orientation, marital status or receipt of public assistance. Participating jurisdictions and entities are Anoka, Hennepin and Scott counties, the CDAs of Carver, Dakota and Washington counties, the Ramsey County HRA, Metropolitan Council and the cities of Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Minneapolis, Plymouth, St. Paul and Woodbury.

In 2024 the FHIC funded fair housing activities including Affordable Housing Connections’ Fair Housing Trainings, HOMELine’s Eviction Prevention Project, the Housing Justice Center’s Fair Housing Access Project and the Minnesota Homeownership Center’s work to translate its manufactured housing curriculum.
