The Engineering Division is responsible for all City infrastructure construction projects. Current projects are listed below.
2017 OVERLAY PROJECT
The City of Eden Prairie is performing a bituminous overlay and rehabilitation project this summer. The intent of the project is to prolong the life of the street in a cost-effective way; addressing street needs before the street deteriorates completely and a much more costly street reconstruction must occur.

2017 SEALCOAT PROJECT
The 2017 seal coat project is scheduled to begin Sunday, July 16. The work is generally located within the central portion of the City, along with neighborhoods west of Dell Road between Highway 212 and Highway 212 and Highway 5.

COUNTY ROAD 61/FLYING CLOUD DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
This project proposes the reconstruction of County Road 61/Flying Cloud Drive from Highway 101 in Chanhassen to Charlson Road in Eden Prairie.

HWY 169 PROJECT
MnDOT is replacing a bridge and reconstructing more than six miles of pavement between Hwy 62 and Hwy 55.

PRESERVE BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
The proposed project includes improvements at the intersection of Prairie Center Drive and Preserve Boulevard, the addition of a second southbound lane on Preserve Boulevard and improvements at Anderson Lakes Parkway, and improvements to the Eden Lake storm water outlet.

SOUTHWEST LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT PROJECT
The Southwest Light Rail Transit (SWLRT), or Green Line Extension, is a high-frequency train that will connect downtown Minneapolis to Eden Prairie through St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Minnetonka.

WEST 70TH STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
With the completion of the first phase of this project in 2016, the second phase includes reconstruction of the eastern segment of the roadway. The construction will be coordinated with Southwest LRT construction to extend the multi-modal improvements on West 70th Street from the proposed Golden Triangle LRT Station east to Shady Oak Road.
